Canadian Experience Class (CEC) Program
All Economic Class programs are designed to attract immigrants who can contribute to Canada’s economy.
The Canadian Experience Class (CEC), a part of the Economic Class, is managed through the Express Entry system. Applications are typically processed within six months after receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA).
Eligibility Criteria for the Canadian Experience Class Program:
- Work Experience:
At least one year of full-time skilled, professional, or technical work experience in Canada within the last 36 months before applying.
Self-employment or work experience gained as a full-time student is not eligible.
The work experience must fall under the following NOC categories:
- Managerial roles (NOC skill level 0)
- Professional jobs (NOC skill type A)
- Technical and skilled trades (NOC skill type B).
- Language Proficiency:
Achieve a minimum Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) score of 5 or 7, depending on the job level.
- Residency Intent:
Plan to live and work outside the province of Quebec. (Those with work experience in Quebec and intending to reside there may apply under the Quebec Experience Class.)
Final Steps Before Getting Permanent Residence:
After being selected from the Express Entry pool and receiving an ITA, applicants and their dependents must undergo medical exams and obtain security clearances to complete the immigration application process.
A Suitable Option for International Students:
The Canadian Experience Class provides a fast and straightforward route to permanent residence for international students with Canadian work experience.
After completing their studies at a Canadian institution, international graduates can work in Canada using post-graduate work permits. Once they have gained at least one year of skilled, professional, or technical work experience in Canada, they may qualify to apply under the Canadian Experience Class.
